San Vincenzo (km. 24): Seaside town on the Tyrrhenian coast with an excellent tourist marina. Its fine white sandy beach is bordered by tens of kilometres of dense Mediterranean woodland. Baratti e Populonia was once an Etruscan and Roman settlement but has been inhabited since ancient times. It is now a modern and lively town. It is worth a visit for its internationally renowned restaurants – especially, the famous “Gambero Rosso” which is highly rated in all the leading good food guides.
